I have many fond memories of heading down to\u003cbr\u003ethe creek to play for hours. My favourite times were when I’d go\u003cbr\u003ewith my cousin, down a small track through the bush onto the\u003cbr\u003ecreek bed when it was low tide and semi-dry. We would borrow\u003cbr\u003eour uncle’s small prawn pot to chuck in and see what fish we\u003cbr\u003ecould find. It felt like my first sense of freedom being down there\u003cbr\u003eand I was always drawn back to that area of the creek. Through\u003cbr\u003emy eyes as a kid, this forest felt like a calming, green space in\u003cbr\u003ethis busy world. Playing in this creek is my first memory of feeling\u003cbr\u003econnected to the land, my first thoughts of wondering who\u003cbr\u003elived here first. It felt like a truly soothing spot in this now, very\u003cbr\u003esuburban area. I learnt to give the land the respect it gave me by\u003cbr\u003eproviding me with these special moments years ago. The bright\u003cbr\u003egreen seen throughout the background speaks on the way it was\u003cbr\u003eseen by myself as a child – a lush, small green space compared to\u003cbr\u003ethe infrastructure it was surrounded by.
