Roots speaks to the importance of family within communities,
our connection to culture, identity, and belonging. Inspired
by my experiences working within residential care, the work
reflects the ongoing impacts of colonisation on Aboriginal
children and families, particularly the pain of disconnection and
growing up in care. Although acknowledging the broken systems
within modern society, the piece represents the need for healing
across generations
