This work reflects on my great grandmother’s connection to
Cranbrook Place in West End, Brisbane. Using fragments of
memory and place, the piece explores the feeling of
Black history still existing quietly within the city landscape.
Living in Brisbane generations later, I wanted to create
something that sits between past and present acknowledging
the stories, people, and presence that remain connected to this
Country.
