Painted surrounding European ceramic patterns (blue willow) is one of my totems; the
carpet snake. The snake hold my cultural identity and my journey as a proud Wakka
Wakka woman, in today’s age surrounded by whitefellas watching our culture and
ways on being like a performance.
The painting came about recalling a time lookers described our mob as ‘exotic’. Exotic,
as in from a place far away, on our very own country.
